Chateau de Voltaire

Today was an easy Sunday trip. We took the bus to Chateau de Voltaire. Only a short trip away, this chateau belonged to the philosopher Voltaire, who apparently lived there for twenty years before his death. We got there a little late in the afternoon so were not able to go inside for the actual tour of the chateau, but were able to walk around the grounds for free. The grounds were beautiful, with flowers starting to bloom and all the statues. There must have been some sort of scavenger hunt, as there were cutouts of fish throughout the grounds. Another fun thing: there were people dressed up as Voltaire and his wife (I'm guessing) just walking around the grounds. Of course I managed to take the picture as Voltaire was picking at his pantaloons. But nevertheless, it was a beautiful walk around the grounds.
